Brother Mack Smith Jr. was born April 2, 1936 in Wisner, LA to Mack Smith, Sr. and Lonie Jackson Smith. He departed this life on September 11, 2014 at his home following a lengthy illness.

Brother Smith was baptized in 1946 by the late Rev. H.P. Jenkins at New Zion Baptist Church in Peck, LA. He was a member of the New Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. King Dawson. He worked as a laborer and later began farming his own land.

He was united in Holy Matrimony to Julia B. Coleman on November 26, 1954. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Jimmy Smith, two sisters Maggie Smith Harrington and Erma Smith Coleman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Julia B. Coleman Smith, two daughters Kathy Carloss of Winnsboro and Connie Smith of Gilbert, LA, two sons Mack B. Smith (Sandra) and Vincent Smith (Stephanie) both of Winnsboro, LA. Four sisters-in-law Evora Coleman Pleasant, Dora Coleman Watson, Thelma Coleman Mack, Betty Coleman Tucker, one brother-in-law Emmit Coleman,Sr., one God sister, Catherine Tolliver, 21 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
