Augustine Teats Young, 92, formerly of Winnsboro, a homemaker, died Saturday, August 16, 2014. Services are 1:00 p.m. Friday,August 22, 2014 at St. John Baptist Church. Burial at Sims Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.

Augustine was born to the late Rev. Robert Nelson and Zettie Teats. She was baptized at a very early age at Cuba Baptist Church. She was a devoted member of St. John Baptist Church and later fellowshipped at Holy Cross Catholic Church. She was also a member of the National Council of Negro Women.

Cherishing her memories are her six children: Ruth (Michael), Dallas, TX, Sarah, San Antonio, TX, Linda, Winnsboro, LA, Ethel and Annette, Chicago, IL, and James, of Nashville, TN; brother Ray; special sister-in-law, Bertha; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by by her son, Wiley, parents and siblings.
